Sonja Johnson

For a decade, Sonja has played a key role in the ACCESS volunteer community. She began on the Loan Review Committee, evaluating loan applications, and soon transitioned to mentorship for the Women’s Business Accelerator, where she guides participants on innovation, marketing, and idea development.

Sonja’s expertise as a business coach for startups and non-profit organizations connected her with ACCESS initially. To this day, she continues to be drawn to ACCESS’s vibrant community network and shared passion for entrepreneurial equity.

Sonja’s favourite part about volunteering is being able to share first-hand, lived experience with her mentees. She appreciates the chance to complement classroom learning with real-world stories.

For Sonja, ACCESS delivers meaningful impact by equipping aspiring entrepreneurs from under-represented communities with the confidence and resources to launch their dreams.
